The AD17e was created from the challenges Taylor faced during the pandemic.The guitar is made entirely in the USA and has a Grand Pacific body style. The guitar has a black solid spruce top, and the sides and back are made of African ovangkol.

The guitar features Taylor's ES-2 pick up system.
