The Sandberg Florence Matt Nature Mahogany Bass is a new classic short-scale, single-pickup passive bass design from German luthier Sandberg. Although the design is based on Sandberg's Florence six-string, it has a vintage Gibson vibe to it that makes the EB-2 and Ripper models of the instrument come to mind. At first glance, the double-cutaway design of the solid body almost gives the impression of a semi-hollow. The tone woods are tried and true, with mahogany or alder for the body and mahogany or hard rock maple for the neck, in keeping with the classic vibe.
