General

The Klowra Hane Filter is a digital effect pedal that translates your touch into lively filter movements. From a classic funk-wah to deep, synth-like sounds, your playing style determines how the effect responds. The sensitive envelope follower approximates the tracking behavior of classic analog hardware. Play firmly, and you get broad, emphatic sweeps; a light touch yields more subtle tonal changes. At the same time, the low end is well preserved, ensuring that even full bass tones retain their foundation. FREQ defines the frequency range, while RES controls the resonance peak. DRIVE sets the input sensitivity and effect intensity without changing the output volume in Envelope mode. This allows you to fine-tune the response to your instrument.

Three modulation modes, plenty of sound possibilities

With the MODE button, you choose between LFO, Envelope, and a combination of both. In LFO mode, the filter moves regularly, independent of your stroke. Via tap tempo, you align this modulation with the rhythm of your music. Envelope mode, on the other hand, follows your playing dynamics, with RATE controlling the attack time. Combining both sources creates layered filter movements in which rhythm and stroke work together. Additionally, envelope-to-rate control offers a modulation speed that increases with a firmer stroke. With the filter switch, you select low-pass, band-pass, or high-pass. Upward and downward sweeps then give you room for both a recognizable funk sound and deep, bubbling synth-like effects.

Compact pedal with flexible connection options

The Hane Filter runs on Klowra's WildSeed Engine, featuring 32-bit floating-point DSP and 24-bit AD/DA conversion. You can choose between true bypass and buffered bypass depending on your signal chain. The soft-touch relay circuit ensures silent switching. For additional control, you can connect an external TS momentary footswitch; firmware updates are handled via USB-C. The compact housing takes up little space on your pedalboard and features illustrations from the Budding Bloom series, inspired by Asian mythical creatures and sacred objects. A 9V DC power supply is required for operation; the current draw is 150 mA. A TS adapter cable and documentation are included so you can explore the connection and control options at your leisure.
