THE HEART OF EVERY TOUCHSTONE
Hand-Voiced for Resonance
The Bourgeois tap-tuning process implemented in a Touchstone guitar is a masterful technique that brings out the natural frequencies of its soundboard. By tapping the wood and listening closely, our luthiers uncover its tonal potential, skillfully balancing stiffness and durability. The braces are meticulously hand-carved to refine the top and back, optimizing resonance and tonal richness. This careful attention to detail results in guitars with a unique, harmonically balanced voice, ensuring exceptional sound quality and a lasting legacy of craftsmanship that will endure for generations.
Slope Shouldered and “square shouldered” Dreadnoughts co-evolved from divergent lines of guitar DNA. Curvier and ever so slightly wider and deeper than its counterpart, the Slope D’s most important structural distinction lies in its short, 25” scale length. Long favored by country musicians – and additionally popular with a variety of American roots stylists – the Slope D is widely regarded as a superb choice for vocal accompaniment. And while also a fine flatpicking guitar, the Slope Shouldered species is usually considered a fingerpickers’ Dreadnought-of-choice.
